Community Eligibility Provision (CEP)

This school year, we are pleased to inform you that the District will be implementing a new program through the National School Lunch and School Breakfast Programs called the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP).  All enrolled students at  Tarkington are eligible to receive a breakfast and lunch at no charge to your household each day of this school year.  No further action is required of you.  Your child will be able to participate in these meal programs without having to pay a fee or submit an application.   If your child wishes to get breakfast in the morning, he/she should arrive between 8:30 and 8:45.  A staff member will escort him/her to cafeteria during that time.  During the lunch hour, students desiring a lunch simply go with their classrooms during the designated lunch time.  It is important to let your child know that they are entitled to one, standard breakfast and lunch each day.  Each of these meals comes with a drink, entree and 1-2 sides.  Any additional items taken by the child are charged to the parent’s account.  We hope this new program is a benefit to your family.

On behalf of the staff, I can assure you that it is our goal that every child succeeds both academically and socially.  I look forward to working with our families and making this a successful school year.

Dr. Arduino
