Warm Weather Management Process

Students are encouraged to keep a water bottle at their desk and drink water throughout the day. Classes that meet on our second floor rotate into “cooling centers” several times during the course of the day. These cooling spaces are the library, the computer lab, the teacher’s lounge, staff conference room, and computer lab office. These areas are all air conditioned and are used frequently during warm weather.

When weather allows, the windows upstairs will remain open and univents will remain on overnight. If temperatures drop overnight, the cooler air will be able to circulate throughout the building. Doors to rooms on the first floor will be left open to increase circulation as well.

Our staff is making every effort to maintain a learning environment that is as comfortable as possible for our students. As a parent, if your feel the temperature is unhealthy to your child’s learning environment, you may call the office and report an absence for this reason.
