Reporting Absences If your child is unable to attend school due to illness or other reasons, please follow these steps: Notify the School: Contact the attendance office by calling (847) 520-8846 or emailing [email protected] before the school day begins. Provide a Reason: When reporting an absence, include the reason, such as illness, appointment or family emergency. If your child is ill, specify any symptoms. Doctor’s Notes: If your child has a medical appointment or illness lasting three days or more, please provide a doctor’s note when they return to school. The Discovery Science Team is a district-wide group of full-time teachers whose main focus is to provide hands-on science instruction to kindergarten through fifth grade students that complements the core instruction delivered by their classroom teacher. The team provides experiences to enhance the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS)-aligned core curriculum.
